Lightning Strike Quartz Cluster in Stand

Incredibly rare quartz cluster that has been etched on the left main point just under the termination as a result of the energy impact of a lightning strike. Lightning strike crystals (also known as flashstones) have not been directly hit by lightning, but are instead in the vicinity of the strike. The quartz crystal experiences a very rapid change in temperature. The result is a distinct crack pattern that develops on the faces of the quartz. Many lightning strike pieces are not the best quality quartz because they are found close to the surface of the earth. This particular cluster is very clear, in beautiful shape and has so many baby points along the back. 100% unpolished.

If you're interested in learning more about these types of crystals, I invite you to read this study by Joachim Karfunkel of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He recreated the energetic impact of lightning in the high voltage laboratorieof thTechnicaUniversities oVienna, ÁustriaanIlmenau, Germanto see if the result would appear similar to the affected crystals found in Brazil. And they were undeniably similar.
